Welcome to TripleHeart,
Inc. Our Motto:
Together - for Life ™
My wife Joanne, President of TripleHeart,
Inc., and I, a heart transplant recipient and
Creative Consultant began our website in March
of 2001. Our purpose was and continues to be
to provide a place on the Internet for heart
and other organ transplants and primary care
givers to contact each other across the country
and around the world. We hope to provide a forum
in order to support each other in formal and
informal settings on the phone, on the net and/or
in person on a regular or irregular basis to
better understand the highs and lows of the walk
we share.
Our Vision is that no transplant, pre- or post-,
be alone when needing answers or understanding
from someone who KNOWS what the ups and downs
are, the roller coaster ride of physical and
emotional feelings that happen to, not all, but
most of us. We acknowledge that no two transplants
are identical any more than any other group of
people. However, we do have a lot in common and
can be a source of knowledge and comfort to one
another in order to improve and possibly extend
our unique lives as TRANSPLANTS.
We have found that most Heart Transplant Recipients
and Primary Care Givers have almost no contact,
if any, with others like ourselves after the
Heart Transplant procedure and very little contact
while we are listed, much less while we are deciding
to become transplant candidates or going through
the qualification process. In this most radical
situation we should have access to information…each
other.
As a result of our work in TripleHeart,
we have found another communication need and
we are addressing that need through Project VALENTINE.
Our Motto: Such a precious gift - so
little timeTM
Through this project we, in partnership with

First United Methodist Church , Douglasville,
GA, GreyStone Power Corporation, Douglasville,
GA, Star Stewart, Fayetteville, NC and RadioShack,
Sprayberry Square, Marietta, GA are involved
in the ongoing process of collecting and distributing
used cell phones to folks listed for organ transplantation.
We do this in order to alleviate expense and
give peace of mind during the incredibly tense
ordeal of waiting for a transplant.
In order qualify to be listed for transplantation;
the first and main qualification is to be very
sick. During the waiting time of up to two years
and sometimes longer, the qualifier must become
sicker to the point of facing imminent death
in order to move up on the list. Usually, at
some point it becomes impossible for the applicant
to work, and quite often care is needed to the
point that the primary caregiver, usually the
spouse, will not be able to work either, many
times causing the loss of a job. With our Project
VALENTINE phones, these folks waiting for transplants
can call 911 for free when emergency medical
care is needed. Whether in the car, on the sidewalk
or at the mall, or even on the way to a doctor's
appointment, sometime during the waiting period,
without warning, a critical need arises. When
that time comes…we will be there. Thanks to these
partners who supply us with our web site, collection
and storage points, cell phone drives and funds
for postage, packaging and advertising as well
as travel expenses associated with setting up
cell phone drives…they also will be there.
Also many thanks to Alumni Affairs, Jacksonville
State University, Jacksonville, AL, the Douglas
County Sentinel, Douglas County, GA, The Atlanta
Journal-Constitution, Atlanta, GA and Cingular
for their invaluable aid in developing our project.
Thank you and God Bless,
